What is Dev On Tap?
Put simply, a 1 man development power house that is sick of the formalities that make it hard for businesses to hire quality software developers quickly and cheaply. I'm sick of having to navigate recruitment agencies, negotiating long contracts and the awkward navigation of contract terms/renewals.
What is a Feature Queue Interval?
In a nutshell, once we wrap up a feature, we reset our timer, guaranteeing that the next feature in your list will commence within this timeframe, balancing efficiency with thoroughness.
What level of PM do you offer?
If you're on our cheapest tier, we're expecting to simply have a list of tickets with requirements cleanly defined in them to work on. The next tier up provides minor project management support, including optionally managing the workload of other developers on the project and leading standups. Our top end tier will have all of the above, but include end of sprint reports, end of sprint retrospectives, roadmap planning and mid-sprint reviews.
What's the minimum term?
There is none! You pay 1 month in advance of the work being done, and there's no obligation to renew at the end of that month. You might need me for a couple months here and there, or just for a single month whilst budgets/requirements are causing you a headache.
Isn't this expensive?
Not really, no! We supply our own equipment, work long hours, and offer nothing more than a minimum term of 1 month. Even if you hire a contractor through an agency, you're tied into that contract for 3-6 months, maybe longer! Furthermore, a Senior Developer could set you back anywhere from £12,000 p/month to £17,000 p/month including recruitment fees and that doesn't even get you weekend working or late night consultations!
How much work can you do?
How long is a piece of string? The difficulty here is that development is hard to estimate, so we don't put a number on features we can push out in a month. One feature might require a day's work, another might require a week.
